Is my friend bi or just tolerant?

I'm a guy, bi and in the closet, and I went out-of-town with a friend to see a show and we stayed in a hotel for a night. When it got really late, and he was on his laptop on the bed I was sitting next to him just watching what he was doing.

At one point, I just stretched out next to him and rested my head on his shoulder and he didn't move away or say anything. We just kept chatting. I rested my hand on his chest expecting him to tell me to move it but he didn't. So we just kept talking like nothing was happening, and I very lightly stroked his chest while my head stayed on his shoulder. By the way, he smelled absolutely amazing lol. This went on for like an hour. At one point I lifted my head up and gave him a very soft kiss on the cheek and then put my head back down. Again, he said and did nothing. Finally, it was really really late and we both decided to go to sleep.

I know there's no clear way to know without asking, but could he be bi or do you think he was just extremely tolerant of me because we have a fantastic close friendship?

Would a straight guy let you do that? I've had a crush on him for a while but after that I feel so in love and I don't want to screw up our friendship. Why are some guys so hard to read?

He might have been really freaking out and that's why he didn't do anything, or he could be bi-sexual as you said. Ask him if you want too, but be ready for an argument because I don't think he would take it to well if someone questioned his sexuality.
