The seven continents known to most Canadians and Americans are (in order of size): Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, Australia.
Many European students, however, are taught that there are only six (for some reason, they combine North and South America into 'America'); and France (for some reason) ignores Antarctica altogether, so French students get only five continents.
Interestingly, many of today's scientists now refer to six continents---where Europe and Asia are combined (since they're one solid geologic landmass) as Eurasia. These six continents are (in order of size): Eurasia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Australia.
Incidentally, I think what you're calling Arctica is considered part of North America (which is comprised of 24 countries).

The reason A was the letter used when naming countries is because of the nature of what the letter represents. The letter A represents a pyramid with a cap stone. It also represents the worshiping of the Sun God Amen - or Aman. The depth and powers of this knowledge is beyond most people comprehension. The letter A also represents the All Seeing Eye. A demonic power watching over you. Interestingly Europe is outside the demonic power, hence the letter E at beginning and end of the name, they have their own currency; the Euro, and with exception to the Vatican and the Crown are United. It is from within the Vatican, the Crown and Washington the demonic power over Earth is ruled. Basically, A is the letter that represents Evil. A = Evil. Now, research for yourself, start with Rick Clay 11:11 on youtube, he help answer a lot of questions. Also look at the US Presidents blood line by a 12 year old girl. Check the new North American currency too, the Amero. Now your on your own.

It's just a coincidence that most continents begin with the same letter, however, Europe, North America and South America are the exceptions to your question.

Most words are of Latin derivation. According to the rules of Latin, most female nouns end in -a. Most male nouns end in -er or -us.
Names change a lot. Asia used to be Orient, and maps were drawn with east at the top, so turning your map the correct way was "orienting" yourself. Europe was originally Evropa. The west side of the Rhine River was Gallia, the east side was Germanius. America is a Latinized form of Amerigo Vespucci, who proved that Brazil was not China, like everybody else thought for a while. So whatever you notice about names is just random stuff.

Arctica is a made up word and isn't a continent.
As for looking at things and noticing patterns and then attributing meaning, this has a long history, look up cabala and numerology.
Of course it's nonsense. The surprising thing would be if you *couldn't* find any patterns.
It is an instance of a common cognitive bias (aka error in thinking) called subjective validation.
