Did Jews Benefit After The Holocaust ?
I had this argument with my history teacher that Jews benefited AFTER the Holocaust. The reason why I think that they did, is because the whole world hated Jews before the war and each country knew that exterminating them will cause country troubles so they just kept quiet, but when Adolf Hitler rose to power and begun the Holocaust many other countries helped in transportation of Jews because now other countries weren't afraid for the outcome as all the hate will fall on Germany (as it happened), but if the Holocaust never had happened Jews will never be seen as humans and still be hated by society. You're right in that anti-semitism was much more widespread and open prior to relevation of the holocaust in '45 than afterwards. Inevitably, well publicized scenes from death camps aroused much sympathy for jews, and they certainly have benefited enormously from it. But don't take my word for it. A JEW admitted this, and did so on the basis of exhaustive research. As Finkelstein clearly shows, jews have exploited the holocaust to further their agenda. In light of endless reminders of horrors, the holocaust is a great propaganda tool to silence would-be critics, and get anything they want--not the least of which is scores of BILLIONS in US taxpayer dollars for a foreign country....

Personally, Vasily, I think they did. But not in the way you put it - Jews are still ridiculed in the media and public for the most inane reasons. I'm not a Jew myself, but I still can't understand how they're supposed to be "different people".
But the horrors of the Holocaust gained Jews sympathy from almost everyone. Theodore Herzl's dream of a 'Jewish homeland' could finally be accomplished, and the land chosen the historical Jewish realm around Jerusalem.
So the Jews benefited, but on the whole I think the whole affair was unfair on the Palestines. For centuries since the Arabs the had lived in that region and prospered, and when the Jews began emigrating from around the world the Palestines welcomed them with open arms. But then Jews began to own more land, command more power and claimed their own nation ... well, you know about those bloody battles of 1947-1948.
The UN voted in favor of the Jews, any many thought the judgement was biased due to the Holocaust. What's sick is that the British left the Middle-East just as they had left South Asia - leaving behind partitioned nations, endless instability and animosity between religions that exists even to this day. Personally, I don't see how the Jews thought they had the right to partition Palestine based on some vague historical/religious evidence. It's unreasonable and the Palestines, innocent bystanders, had to pay the price.
And the idea of Herzl's 'Jewish homeland' failed miserably. Jews continue to be a diaspora, inhabiting Israel, the US, and almost every other nation. And Israel has caused the Middle-East, the cradle of civilization, to be a time-bomb.
I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings, but this is just my opinion, and we all are entitled to have different opinions.

I am Jewish,Your teacher sounds like an antisemitic and racist bigot! WE LOST six million Jews in the Holocaust, plus 6 million non-Jews killed in the Holocaust too (killed in very savage ways) . Antisemitism and racism still exist.Israel was being rebuilt in the late 19th century with Zionism not after the HolocaustJews have always lived in Israel to some extent,it is the only true Jewish state. Palestine is merely another name for Israel coined by the Romans to deny the Jewish heritage of Israel.Jews have used the term Palestine for thousands of years,,Arabs have used that term for only about 100 years.Israel is a democracy that protects the rights of non-Jews

No one who hated the jews before the war stopped hating them afterwards. It was less of a case of giving them Israel than deciding it wasn't worth fighting about it. Besides, so many jews had been killed, so much of their property and belongings claimed by others, that encouraging emigration to Israel solved some awkward problems about who actually owned what after the war.
If you look at the propaganda put out by the arabs, among others, they are still treated as not human. Israel lives as a besieged state, surrounded by millions who would like to see them pushed into the sea. They have not been "given" anything. They have worked and bled for what they have.
Meantime, the same old things are said about jews today, and low level antisemitism exists even in countries like the US today.
I don't see how 6 million people dying and the loss of an incredible amount of wealth has benefited the jews. You are seriously underestimating the anti-semitism that exists in the world, including during the Holocaust. Many of the victims were happily given to the Nazis not by Germans, but by other "enlightened" Europeans who either hated them, or saw the opportunity to rob from defenseless victims.

No. U.S just used Jews to create Israel and to consolidate american power in the middle east. They humiliated Black people for decades, treating them like subhumans, just read about Jesse Owens. And suddenly they began to show sympathy for Jews. Roosevelt and Churchill too sent Jewish refugees who escaped the third Reich back to their lands during the holocaust.
Stalin who saved Jews from concentration camps planned to kill or deport Jewish people as he thought Jews were american spies. Only thing Jews got was Israel, and now they have to do what U.S tells them, HISTORY IS VICTOR BIASED.

I think your right, I never thought of the benefits after or before the Holocaust until now. You arent wrong though, your opinion cant be wrong. You seem very inteligent though, thinking like that. If they didnt have any benefits after the Holocaust then how come people still care and have respect for them? I find it very close minded for your teacher to think that they didnt, The Jews earned so much respect from others after the Holocaust. And either way im pretty sure you respect them even if others didnt the Jews earned YOUR respect and that is them being benefited after the Holocaust so your teacher is WRONG!

Nonsence.
Pogroms were conducted in Poland just 1 year after WWII was ended.
Attempt to exterminate another millions of Jews was attempted in 1947 (just 2 years after Holocaust had ended) by Arab armies in the Land of Israel.
Look at UN today.
Tens of millions of people can be killed in Africa and nobody cares. But daily resolutions are issued for any Arab criminal arrested in Israel. Why? Because antisemites in UN hate Jews.
The only benefit for Jews after WWII was the gained understanding that they should take care of their own protection because nobody else would.

The phoenix that is Israel rose from the ashes of the Holocaust, so it was benficial that a country and safe haven was born from such human depravity and wickedness.

They were given a huge part of someone else's territory, and even then they're not satisfied! Does that answer your question?
