Fellow Christians, Is it alright to ask....?
If you have a friend or friends that are of a different faith is it alright in generally casual conversation to ask someone you know believes in a different faith &/or God to pray for you?
Probably everyday there's a somebody going through a tough time or worried about something, so if that person is a Christian and a neighbor or friend they're close to believes in something else; is there any Biblical reason or prohibition against asking the friend or neighbor to please pray for you?

Why would it not be?
I have a small circle of friends, many acquaintances though. I wouldn't care and even hope that an atheist friend pray for me!
What could it hurt?

The point is how you view praying? If I believe in trees and someone asked me if I pray for them and I pray to the trees does just belief count? No! We would like it to be so but in truth prayers that are answered can only be answered by the One Who Answers prayers and that is God Almighty to glorify His Son Jesus Christ. Will it do good to ask others of different faiths, it depends the outcome of the action if you want to make them feel good or to make them seem important. Yet again what is the bottom line? Verily verily I say unto you if you pray believing and not doubting that you say to this mountain be thou cast into the sea and not doubting it will be done for you! Yet the point is who is doing the work? Who are we stating our faith in - is it just prayer? Or is it the One True God!

Well, if you're talking about different Christian denomination, then no, I think it's fine to ask them to pray for you. However, I wouldn't want to give the impression that I am validating their belief. While I can appreciate that I might be wrong in my faith, I'm not willing to support someone who I'm convicted is in error.
For instance, there are some religions that teach really destructive beliefs. They lead to physically hurting others. I don't want to appear to support that.

I think it is okay because I prayed for my friend that doesn't have a religion and she was so excited afterwards and felt so blessed!!
