Will I have to provide health care for my 29 year old dependent son under Obamacare?

I am not sure how this is going to work next year. Will I have to provide insurance for him? If I stop taking him as a dependent, can he get insurance on his own? He is currently going to school and not working. I live in California.

He will have to get insurance on his own. He is too old to get 0bamacare under your policy. If he is dependent on you you'll probably wind up paying for it.

If the reason he is still a dependent at age 29 is because he has a severe mental illness there are programs which could help him.

When you say he is dependent, do you mean he is mentally disabled? Otherwise, how can he be your dependent at his age? He can buy his own insurance from the state exchange listings in October. If he is a student he cannot be over 24 to be a tax dependent.
