Hydro-lock ford ranger question?
So I was offroading and went through a rather large puddle and the engine died, I imediately tried starting it and it did turn over but would not start, it then hydro-locked to the point the starter could not turn it. I have since removed the spark plugs and tried turning it to remove the water but the engine remains seized. This seems odd to me, if i destroyed the rings, head, piston, or con rod the engine should not be seized. Any ideas? its a 2001 ford ranger with the v6 3.0L and an auto trans.
the starter is trying to turn the engine over and is functioning properly. it just lacks the power to move it. i do not know how to turn the engine over by hand.
Also i believe the internals to be in ok shape because it hydro-locked while it was being turned over, not while running

That engine isn't turning if you got enough water in there to bend most of the connecting rods.
Starter issues? The starter isn't energized unless you are actually starting up the truck, so that was a dumb suggestion.

The internals on the engine should be fine still. Water can disturb the flow of electricity.
