Yeah, I think the solution is just to turn a blind eye and leave him to it.
Is it normal to watch porn at that age? Well you're not meant to, but I know plenty of people who do/did.
Can it damage your mental health? Not that I know of. It's quite addictive, but it's not too harmful. Masturbation is like eating; everyone needs to sometimes, just don't overdo it and it's fine.

Talk to the teacher and ask if there's a porn filter on the school internet system. If they say yes, tell them it isn't good enough.
If you're talking about his own computer - 12-14 is the age where kids start getting curious and you aren't likely to stop him.
No, nobody needs to know what kind of porn he likes. Or why you think you're his mommy... If he's watching the stuff at school, that's bad news because kids need to learn what the teachers are trying to get into their wee little brains. But privately - you aren't going to stop him.
