Do you think the Rangers signing Manny Ramirez is just a lame PR move?

Were the Rangers feeling irrelevant and tried to buy a quick headline? Or will he be an important contributor to the Rangers (That is, if he is recalled)

What could the Rangers possibly have seen in this clubhouse cancer?

Reminds me of the Marlins Adam Greenberg one-game contract of last year. Just trying to grab attention.

The maggot hit .352/8/43 in Taiwan but left the team BEFORE THE SEASON ENDED. That should have raised a red flag for the Rangers that he's still an irresponsible, self-involved jackass, but they are so desperate for hitting they're willing to give a 41-year old clubhouse cancer a shot at making the team.

If this piece of crap is promoted to the big club I predict the Rangers will sink slowly into the AL West, and deservedly so. Ramirez couldn't earn a spot on the A's -- a team that was truly in need of hitting -- last season so you know that he'll bring less than nothing to the table now.

Manny has been playing in Taiwan for the past couple of years and I'm oberjoyed to see him back in the MLB since I've been following him since I was 7. ManRam still has a good 3 or 4 years left in him I'd say, sure he's old (41) but he has experience, and hopefully he can muster up some of his old power hitting to help him and the Rangers. He was signed to their AAA team but by September call-ups I think he'll bat 5th for the Rangers if he does what Manny does and that is hit like a beast. Too bad he used PEDs and is growing old though.

It's a baffling move to sign a 41 yr. old 2 time PED abuser. He's only been playing a few months in Taiwan and hasn't been that good there. Perhaps someone owes him a favor in Texas who knows.

I was shocked someone gave him a chance. I suspect he'll sell some tickets in AAA but get himself in some kind of trouble before he makes it to Texas.
