what does "java 1.7.0.25 mean ?

I installed the new version of Java & removed all older versions because the games at games.asobrain.com would not load.

The games work with the new version but I have to approve it and select run. The the browser lists Java 1.7.0.25 as the version.

Does this mean the version of Java is so old it is the Java 1 or does the 1.7.0.25 mean it is the new version.?

The strange version number dates back to Sun Microsystems, Inc. It actually means version 7 update 25. It is the latest version.

First off, your numbering is incorrect!

"java 1.7.0.25" should read Java 7 Update 25. And, the 25 means that Oracle has patched Java 7 (aka JRE) 25 times already.

But, your REAL mistake was deleting all older versions of Java JRE. Older Games need older versions of Java JRE. But, good luck finding older versions of Java, that is, unless you always do regular System Back Ups.

Yes, it is updated version of JAVA. It means 7 update 25 version. It includes many new features and APIs, developed by Oracle Corporation.
