I have an O2 sensor question?

I have recently replaced my o2 sensor because my car was stalling and hesitating.after installation the car ran fine for about 3 days.then it started the hesitation and messing up.I went and checked the o2 sensor and its completely black and u can run my finger across it and pick up black soot.could this be the reason my car is hesitating again

    Do you run a scan test or just figure out the problem was the O2 sensor? Well the problem is no the sensor the problem is on the carb if you car have one, if not the problem will be on the sensor at the intake ( TPS, Idle sensor even the fuel regulator could be the cause) the problem is your motor is get too much gas and that's why are send all that black coal on the O2 sensor.

    Why? Were you bored or something? Your symptoms in your mysterymobile point to a vacuum leak of some sort.

    you should have read the trouble code for the problem. The O2 sensor only tells you there is problem not that it is the problem. If the sensor is faulty it will tell you that also. Blac soot on your finger tells you nothing.
