How much do you spend on school clothes?

I'm going to be a freshman in high school this year and lately, I've been really into clothes and fashion. I've developed a little bit of an addiction to shopping, so I'm always online or wanting to go to the mall. So far, I've only bought 2 pairs of leggings, 3 shirts, and a sweater for school, but that was all $200. My mom always pays for all my back-to-school clothes, as long as I wait to wear them until school starts. This is just my online shopping. My mom says that we're going on a major shopping spree at the mall when school gets closer, so that means she'll probably spend another $200-300 there. (Btw, I normally shop at Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister, American Eagle, Pink, and Pacsun)

When I look back at the numbers, it seems like a lot of money. Is $500 too much to spend on school clothes? Also, how much do you normally spend on back-to-school clothes?

First off, clean out all of your drawers and wardrobe and closet. Separate the clothes into two piles- those you don't like and can give to charity, and clothes you want to wear next year.

You don't need to buy a new wardrobe for a whole new year! Most likely, you will have 5-10 items that you haven't outgrown yet.

And when you're going into those stores, make sure you're going into the clearance/sale section. You obviously aren't, since leggings, shirts, and a sweater cost you $200 (how does that even happen????). You may think it's cheap or whatever, but it will save you A LOT of money.

And yes, $500 is a lot of money to spend on clothing, no one really cares what you wear in the first place. I spend $100 on clothing for the new school year, because I'm sensible with what I buy, and how I spend money.

500 was about what I spent as of grand total for the year maybe less... try department store like tj-maxx and Ross and Burlington you may never know what you will find there I find stuff from malls like 40% off at those places

I spent whatever I managed to save from my part time job. My parents stopped paying for things that I didn't absolutely NEED when I first got a job at 14.

They loved me and all that, they just wanted to help prepare me for the future when I became an adult and had to start paying for EVERYTHING myself.

just get a $10 shirt and you'll be fine for like 3 years
