Trip to puerto Vallarta Mexico?

How much (usually) would be a round trip from San Francisco intl. To puertO Vallarta Mexico. I have been looking and I've seen some for about $460. I am going to be there 10 days about. So I was just wondering how much plane tickets usually are and how much money US dollars I should take. I think if I bring $200-250 I should be fine, but what do you think? Are there any cheap sites, and I'm going in the spring of 2014. If that matters. So do you think it will be enough?

You would do better to get an all inclusive package which includes your flight, resort, food, drink, and transport from the airport to your resort, and back again. Look at the chartered flight packages such as Jetblue. I'm sure there are others near where you live. If your unsure of what to look for, then sit down with a travel agent and discuss what your budget is, and what you are looking for in a resort. For my wife and I, we budget for $100 dollars a day in tips and spending money. Some days are more, and others are less. Also take with you a credit card, and a debit card. Debit card, in case you decide you need more money, and credit card in the event you book excursions and tours from your resort. Let your credit card and debit card company know that you may be using these cards in Mexico, otherwise they might freeze your accounts. At the resort, change some of your money to pesos for tipping.

It's not just the flight. You need a Hotel and meals. You have to do some sight seeing and some lovely nighclubs (not sleazy). Mexico is still a good deal, but not near to what it was a few years ago. I can be extremely frugal, but I believe I can't make it on the money you mentioned. If you need to watch every peso, you won't enjoy your vacation. You need to save longer and make it worth your while. I would not take US$. Put it in a bank in SF, and use an ATM card....best route for me. The flight sounds reasonable, but sometimes you need to spend hours as there are so many sites.

Expedia.com. Cheap-o-air, booking buddies, Last minute travel...many many more.

The all inclusive are the most expensive when you actually sit down and figure it out....personally I don't care for them. Good Luck >3

To make your future plans easier, use a consolidator like: Pleasantholidays.com They include your Air, REsort & Rent-A-Car together in a single package. I've used them in the past & they were wonderful.

Don't bother yourself with mindless travel rates, intineries, resort options & possible Rent-A-Car rates.

GO with one of the best . . .

    Source(s): I used them on a trip to Maui a few yrs ago . . .
