why isnt vedic mathematics taught more widely in the UK curriculum?
Im more than sure it would encourage more interest and enjoyment in school mathematics

The number of people in this country who could even spell "Vedic Mathematics" let alone tell you anything about it could probably be counted on the fingers of one hand! That is sufficient reason alone for its lack of availability in schools or any other seats of learning, and that's even before we get on to the lethargy of those in control of the educational world or the still wide-spread view that the West doesn't really have anything to learn from "Johnny Foreigner" - how many hospitals or GP surgeries offer Acupuncture ? A helluva lot more than the number of Educational establishments familiar with Vedic Mathematics!

Vedic mathematics is absolutely AMAZING!! It's such a pity it isn't included anywhere in the curriculum and so few people know about it... It's what drew me towards maths when I was a kid! They should really consider making it a part of school curriculum in all countries.
