Need an opinion, dog owner ettiquette?

I know it generally not a good idea to tie my dog up outside a store, but sometimes I run into situations when I have to, (like if he poops and I need to run in somewhere to get a plastic bag.) If I HAVE to tie my dog up outside a store, what is the best way to do it to deter thieves, prevent the dog from getting stolen, or prevent him from bothering passers by?

Make sure when you run in, it is quick and you can see the dog. Also, make sure you know people in the area where you leave he dog, like a neighborhood you live in. I wouldn't do it in any uncharted territory.

Do not tie your dog up outside, always take several bags with you.

So many dogs rae being stolen just like this, all over the Country.

Never leave your dog tied up outside alone, anywhere.

As well, it could bite someone trying to pet the dog, and you will be sued to the hilt for damage the dog does.

So, the best thing, always take several bags on your walks, never leave home without them.

Sometimes a dog on a long walk will poop more than once, so take enough, so you do not have to leave the dog tied up outside, it is just not safe for the dog or anyone passing by.

Good luck...But please, never leave your dog unattended, too dangerous.

That's really unavoidable. Always bring doggy doo bags so you don't have to stop. Your dog should never be left unattended in public.
