Why is my A.C. blowing warm air?

So my ac went out 2 nights ago, we were miserable and said we'd call a guy in the morning, but we woke up and it was fine blowing cold air. A few hours in the morning the house started heating up so I put my hand up to the vents and could feel it was just blowing hot air. We called a guy out and it took almost 24 hours for him to get here and throughout the day the ac would blow cold air for maybe 2 to 5 minutes an hour then just hot air. The thermostat said it was almost 95 in the house at times :( well when the ac guy came he just messed with the ac unit outside, said it was just the condesor or something and said he fixed it, 5 minutes after he left I checked the vents and yet again it is just blowing warm air. We are miserable and the guy said he can't be back till tomorrow night. The unit outside is working we can hear it buzzing and you can hear and feel the air coming out of the vents it just isn't cold until a few times a day for just minutes. What is going on help!!!

Update:

The 'lines freezing up' is what someone mentioned but a friend went and checked and apparently the silver tube thingy that is supposed to feel ice cold all the time is warm which means there can't be any frozen ice...?

It sounds almost as if your lines are freezing up. This can happen in cars, too.You open the hood and find a block of ice around the condenser and the lines. Once it melts, the air will blow cool again, but will start to freeze up quickly. Repeat all day long.

The hot and cold cycling like in what you are describing sounds like the compressor going on and off on it's internal overload. It does this normally due to getting too hot. There are a number of reasons for this. The most common one that I have found is the condenser fan not moving enough air on a regular basis. Often times the hub has loosened up and the blade appears to be moving but it isn't really moving enough air. I am assuming that the service guy cleaned the condenser coil while he was out there, that is another reason that this happens.

You shouldn't be able to hear any buzzing outside on your unit...sounds to me like he overlooked a start or run capacitor or a anti short cycle circuit board..or ants in contractor....regardless the unit wasn't gone through thoroughly enough....y?....what exactly is stated on your service invoice?..provide some more specific information and you'll get some pro feedback on here...what brand of unit?..do you know if it is older unit...and call your guy back..if your still not cooling/where there any recommendations made?

Your unit is almost certainly low on freon.
