Why do we relate to others when we do not know ourselves?

Because the false ego-idea has created an identity.  Created with a lot of back doors!  No one can gain access to himself because he exists only in an idea; as identity.  There are no you!  Being is part and parcel to all existence, why should a you be necessary to be apart or existing outside all creation.   The word whole came from the word Holy.  You are right no one can cross the boundary into another but when one realizes transcendence of eternal awareness and experiencing is possible with proper mediations techniques.    It must be remembered there are two aspect of the one whole of existence.  The relative, every changing, aspect and the absolute none changing field of existence.  In deep mediation when the body, mind and consciousness have been left behind awareness transcends back into the absolute field at once.   Upon returning to consciousness the mind is filled with love, peace and contentment; great joy.

I may not fully know myself but I may know that I am a spirit soul within my body.  Spirit souls by nature are attractive.  And each spirit soul is a person.  Each person has choices to make.  And some of us may end up making similar choices.

If not by someone's words, how else would you know anything about that person?  And if not by feeling the difference between the energy of a true statement, versus a lie in your heart, how else are you going to judge?

It is not important that none of us know how we ended up here, in this material world.  Somehow or other we have fallen into the ocean of birth and death.  The desire to be picked up from this ocean of death and be placed in our real home, spiritual world is what unites us.
