Is this just a coincidence, and what is your take on it?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Christian_distri...

I asked this earlier, but I want new answers from new people.

Compare the two maps, you can see that generally where Christianity is denser, so too is the rate of documented homicides. Why do you suppose this is?

Update:

@Sarah: Those aren't the only countries in question... Also, I asked what factors you believe need to take into consideration that link the countries in a similar fashion.

Because there is higher rate of people losing faith. People are always dropping out of their religions because they believe it can not help their "poor life", it is stupid to think that way but... anyway usually when people go through this kind of thing they enter an even deeper despair, all they can think is that they have no religion anymore and no hope or faith either. Losing hope so suddenly and abandoning faith are pretty hard to do and it causes a lot of emotions to intensify with the fear they now feel, this would probably lead them to consider, and later attempt, suicide.

Hope this helped, but next time it might be better if you add in a disclaimer or you'll get a ton of stupid people telling you how horrible you are for being faithless (yes they will assume that's what you are)... You'll get better answers if people don't think that.

Source(s): I've taken a few classes on Psychology and know a couple of people who have gone through similar situations to the one I described above. ^^

Christians throughout history have hidden behind the facade of christianity to commit atrocious acts. I find it to be extreme stupidity that anyone could believe in religion but even worse that they use these false stories to commit murder and genocide. So to answer your question: not a coincidence.

    You know, you're right.

Because in Africa, South America, and Mexico, there are NO other factors that might have contributed to that. (Please, read with sarcasm. I certainly typed it that way.)

    Get a life.
