Why aren't commentators getting angry at the Victorian fans booing Stephen Milne?

Let's rewind back 2 weeks ago, shall we? Earlier in the week, Essendon captain Jobe Watson admitted to taking a banned substance. He was booed the following Friday by West Coast fans, as they were upset that even though he admitted guilt, he was allowed to play. The Victorian media then proceeded to RIP into the WA fans, saying they were pathetic and really need to take a look at themselves.

Fast forward 2 weeks. A player by the name of Stephen Milne has been ACCUSED of a terrible crime, but has profoundly denied any guilt for the last 10 years. He played this weekend, and was booed by the (Victorian) crowd every time he got near the ball. Yet the commentators are saying "This was expected".

Does this confuse anyone else? Or is it simply that the Victorian commentators are quick to jump at the WA fans at any given opportunity?

As far as I can remember Milne gets booed every week anyway, nothing has changed!

Point 1: The two commentators most guilty of this Cometti and BT are both West Australians. Richo of course is a Tasmanian. Macavaney is a South Australian. Dunstall is a Queenslander. The whole "the world is picking on interstaters" thing really doesn't stack up.

Point 2: Don't think many people would put much store in anything that emerges from BT's tiny brain

Point 3: I was channel surfing last night admittedly between the cricket, the Lions/Kangas game and the Carlton/Saints game and the Carlton/Saints game was the first thing to become boring - but I hardly heard much booing at all. Maybe Milne didn't get the ball 29 times or maybe I missed them.

EDIT: Random - Luke Darcy is a South Australian and as stated earlier Richardson is a Tasmanian. My apologies for forgetting Darcy - yes, yes, another k-nob ... but not a Victorian either

I think a big deal was made partly because Tim Watson was part of the game day commentary team.

That aside, these are different issues in different circumstances. I believe Jobe thought that the drugs we was taking were legal at the time he took them, so it can't really be perceived to be his fault, but that of the club doctors.

Milne usually gets booed anyway, but then you consider the fact that there is a strong belief that the justice process was impeded at the time of the incident to protect him, he's got a strong chance to be found guilty.

That's my understanding of it, but if the bombers were playing anywhere else in the country that Thursday after the revelation, he'd have been booed just as hard by a majority of the opposition crowd.

Fact is q the attacks on eagles fans were coming in from all directions, yet we have a player in Milne who has admitted to nothing, been proven guilty of nothing and is among the best goal sneaks the competition has ever seen.

The only difference between the 2 is people like Jobe, most of them have lived in victoria for the best part of 20 years at this point i think it's fair to say they are victorian. I see myself as west australian, despite not being born here.

The followers that booed McNabb on draft day replaced into orchestrated via a close-by Philadelphia activities radio station. They introduced 30-40 those with them just to boo the Eagles in the event that they picked anybody different than Ricky Williams. As a existence-long Philly activities fan, Donovan is hands down my sought after athlete to don an Eagles jersey. purely simply by fact those 30-40 idiots have been booing, does not mean that each and each Eagles fan feels the comparable way. this is a shame that stable Philly followers like myself get a bad rap simply by fact of idiots like that mis-representing the fan base. And for the record, i've got defended McNabb on Yahoo solutions all season long and that i'll proceed to assist him. Andy Reid is the only I nonetheless discover questionable. How approximately discovering the info until eventually now you generalize all Philly followers into the comparable type.

Quandry, the commentators who were complain about Watson getting booed were Luke Darcy and Matthew Richardson. Neither of them are WA.

As I said last time you asked, it was just another chance to bash us. They have a history of doing just that.

And also as I said, there would be nothing said when Victorian crowds did it themselves (again, I might add). :)

Yep have to agree with the G Man here. i can't remember a game in the last few years when he didn't get booed. he loves it!

Watson should have been immunised against the booing. seeing he's had everything else up his arm.

    Cheers.
