Why can't bl acks realize their contributions to the US?

Why do the black communities not use these people as examples of their people and their minds. All we ever hear is how they are put down. I even knew about these inventions and when discussing them with a black HS senior she had not clue! What do they celebrate black history month for? Is it to say "We are put down and can't accomplish anything because of the whites?" I think that instead of crying victim all the time they need to think of the positive and how some blacks have given to society instead of taking. Thats why I feel no pity for the ones who hang in gangs and live totally on welfare. I have precious black friends who are appalled at the actions of their race.

I worked as a public school teacher.

The biggest thing holding back blacks is the entitlement mentality that teaches them things like academic achievement and working for pay are "white culture," and they don't have to subject themselves to this foreign, alien culture. They are taught from birth that being black means being entitled to kick back and use the social safety net as a hammock. They are taught from birth to wallow in angry self pity over things that happened 100 years ago, which were done by people who aren't even alive anymore.

Black students ostracize and shun their black classmates who demonstrate any kind of academic ability. They use peer pressure to keep each other uneducated and unqualified for any kind of employment.

    Blacks cause their own problems.

But somehow blacks still deserve some kind of revenge and reparations for things that happened before any living person was even born.

Source(s): All this hysteria over Trayvon Martin is another example of their refusal to accept the rules of civilized society. You don't beat up a man just because he got out of his car when you think he shouldn't. And if you do, you can and will be shot.

Boy do I agree with you! I also agree that people have to get past the Bush thing. I was never a huge fan of his at all yet I am really against what Obama has been trying to do. This apology thing is especially infuriating. I think ALL countries have contributed to the alleged global warming thing, if such a thing even exists. I still cannot wrap my head around it. I live in an area that was once covered by glaciers. Today, I was running air conditioning. Records going back to the early 1800s for my are show temperatures as high, if not higher than today. In those times, it was before the internal combustion engines that are supposedly responsible for a great deal of this global warming thing. I do agree that we all, in the US and everywhere on the earth have to improve what we are doing to take care of mother earth, but I am not on board to think that we have caused this and in particular that we in the US are any more responsible than any other country. I am proud to be American and do not feel we should apologize for anything at all. I'm sick of it and embarrassed because of it.

Because blacks didn't really invent those things, it's an embellishment.

-sure they received a patent on improvements or modifications but they did not invent those things. You could get a patent if you designed rubber feet that keep a chairs legs from scratching the floor. That doesn't mean you invented the chair.

That's what those blackumentaries are trying to imply and its a blatant lie.

You might want to add that thousands were at Valley Forge. Yes, they bled and died to establish this country & to gain their own freedom. There's reason to believe that Jefferson was at least part black, on his mothers side.Thousands more fought in the Civil War. Both sides. General Beauregard was an excellent officer, wealthy, and BLACK.

Because the race baiters like Jackson and Sharpton only survive if there is racial tension. They do their best to stir people up so the money keeps rolling in.

If African-Americans were to stop listening to the clowns and started focusing on the people on your list while trying to emulate them they would be so much better off.

Notice how every one of the inventions on your list predates the time when liberals decided that Blacks needed their help.

What is the name of one school , with a link to proof, that teaches, "We are put down and can't accomplish anything because of the whites?" ust name one school that does that. That is just your silly opinion and you use later facts to true to bolster the silly first part of your statement.
