Is my iPod broken for good?

My iPod touch 4th generation is screen cracked, but still working wondrously. Tonight I was on it and it popped up "20 percent" a few times. I had left the charger in the living room. I got up and walked to the living room and knelt down and dropped my iPod on the carpeted area below it, that also had a comforter on it. Maybe 6inches height.I talked with my mom and sister then went to get on my iPod. I pressed the Home button. Nothing but a blank screen. I assumed it was dead and plugged it in. It gave me the normal battery symbol with the little sliver of red. But it never turned back on. It's been 4 hours of charging. I've tried pressing the top and home button together. Just the top. Just the Home. Different outlets. Different USBs. Tried using computers. Can't online chat Apple because my iPod was manufactured over 5 years ago. I'm really peeved and about ready to smash the darned thing with a hammer. Please help!!

To tell you the truth, I think it's pretty busted up because the "Pressing the home and power button" is just for like resetting your iPod or restoring it. I'm sorry but there's nothing I can do at the point. You'll have to buy a new one or fix it for $100 dollars. I'm sorry, Jackie.... I feel useless.. :c

Take your iPod to the nearest Apple Store. They will see if it is completely dead or not. If it is dead, and you have a warranty on it, then you can get another one for free. If not, then you have to pay another hundred bucks for it. To me, your iPod does seem to be dead for good.
