  • A good romance book with lots of action?

I love dystopian/apocalypse books or Medieval/redone fairytales. I've read pretty much every popular YA dystopian and was looking for a well plotted book with plenty of romance :)

  • Who uses a diva cup?

I just got mine and I'm having quite a bit of trouble. I'm a virgin (though I've heard that doesn't have anything to do with it). I have yet to get it in, though I've done several dry runs, trying to get it in. The last time, when I tried it again, blood was on the rim. Is that bad, or did I just agitate my cervix? Any experienced and helpful comments or even just empathy, would be great!

  • How do I stretch these boots?

I bought Justin s Stampede cowgirl boots. Love them! But the right one fits like a glove, while the left one gets stuck in the ankle area on, and off. Once my foot is IN the boot, it fits as comfortably as the right boot, but my left boot takes my dad helping to get it off. Any ideas on how I could stretch it to help make it easier on and off?

  • Is lavender oil bad for hair?

I wash my hair with baking soda, because I've found it works the best for me right now.

That being said, my hair doesn't have any fresh, fragrant scent.

Would it be bad for my hair if I added a drop or two of Lavender oil into the baking soda/water paste?

  • Weird horse symptoms?

My friend's horse got a really bad fever, now he has a stiff neck and abscesses on his face. Several of the other horses at her barn have a high fever as well. They've called a vet out and he has no clue what's going on. Any expert horse people come across a sickness like this? Only 1 horse has recovered so far out of.. 9 maybe.

  • Looking for books?

Books keep me optimistic and fight away my depression, therefore I go through books like crazy.

I particularly love YA dystopian, but I'll read (almost) any genre.

    Any suggestions?

I've read pretty much everything popular.

(THG, divergent, TID, TMI, TMR, TDM, Matched, Graceling, The Host, LOTR, The Hobbot, Unbroken, The Selection, Delirium, PJ, HoO, and others I can't remember 😂)

My insomnia thanks any of your suggestions :)

    P.S

I don't care even if the books are directed for a "younger" crowd. (I'm a 16 year old female.)

  • Hair help? Semi urgent!?

I have mild dandruff (ew, yuck.) I've tried the typical head and shoulders for 2 weeks, but it made my hair greasy, and even though the dandruff eased up, it was still there.

I have somewhere to go tomorrow, and wanted to have nice, clean, hair, and I read that washing it in olive oil and letting it sit for 10 minutes and then rinsing will help. And then, before going to bed, rubbing the scalp with olive oil again. (They say to wrap in a towel or shower cap) Sources said when you wake up your scalp will be dandruff free. But will this make my hair really really greasy?? Please help :/

  • Hair product help?

My scalp is greasy and it has been for a while. The best shampoo I can find is a sulphate free one. (Shea mountain or something, I found it at Walmart) Anyway, I looked online and saw that Suave daily clarifying shampoo was a really good product for oily hair. I also saw Aubrey Organic green tea clarifying shampoo. Suave is a lot cheaper. Can anyone tell me which one is better, or another product that you know is very effective? (My sister's wedding is in a month. I want clean shiny hair if possible :P)

  • Is this book excerpt eye catching?

Say you were in a bookstore and picked up this book that was in the YA dystopian category. You decided to read the first paragraph. Would this catch your attention and make you want to buy it?

“How would you feel if your life suddenly crashed into a million pieces, things hardly making sense?

We always expected an economy collapse, but as it always is, there was so much more than meets the eye.

My name is Alexis Cade Lee, I'm 17 years old. My life is a living hell.

    (Beginning of chapter)

Admittedly, I am not find of hanging upside down by my ankles. Then again, a change in perspective is always interesting. While the blood is rushing to my head, I thought about my predicament. It's not every day that you get caught in a trap set by sociopaths. Especially not when it's set by a man I used to call my uncle.

    “Damon?” I called out.

Closing my eyes and straining my ears, I heard the sound of footsteps. Wriggling my body, I tried to turn myself around to see who was approaching, praying that it was Damon. If not, my independence would be extinguished in mere minutes. More footsteps.”

    Constructive critisism is welcome :)

  • Running endurance?

I have a love hate relationship with running, like most people, probably. Anyway, I'm trying to be able to run 3 miles, but the problem is, I can barely make it through 1 mile and then I can't breathe anymore. Like, my body isn't tired, but I'm gasping for air and feel light headed. Should I continue to do it to expand my breathing capacity?

  • OTTB problems?

    (Posting this for a friend)

I have a 7 year old OTTB I've had for six months. She last raced in 2012 and sat in a field for a while after being lightly restarted. When I first got on her last fall, she was slightly underweight but extremely quiet despite the usual wiggly greenie problems, hacked around great, had great breaks, and went around little two feet courses with lead changes. She gained plenty of weight and was starting to look very healthy again, then slightly injured her ankle in the field and was off work for three weeks or so. When we got on her again she was a nervous wreck and couldn't even trot quietly. Over the winter she's just gotten worse and refuses to even walk, all she wants to do is gallop around the ring like it's a track. She is vetted and has had her teeth floated and we always make sure her tack fits. She gets ridden at least three times a week. I am not a nervous rider and have trained plenty of greenies, and I try to stay out of her mouth as much as possible though she refuses to listen to half halts or my seat. I have been riding her in a snaffle. She is not nervous on the ground at all and will sit still all day and follow you around like a dog, and will lunge quietly with tack on. However, as soon as you put your feet in the stirrups she is a ball full of nervous energy. Lunging helps a little but not much.

Yes, I do have a trainer with OTTB experience I just wanted some second opinions. Any rude comments will be ignored.

    Thanks

  • Lunging an aggressive horse?

This may get lengthy, hang with me please!

As you may have seen, I have a gorgeous palomino Quarter Horse, roughly 8 years old. I have been around horses for... most of my life, but real hardcore into them for the past 7 years. I have free lunged horses who know how to lunge in round pens before, about 5 years ago, and done fine. I'm pretty fearless when it comes to horses, but to an extent.

Anyway, my horse quits sometimes and someone suggested lunging, as it's a good stretch. I winced at that suggestion. My sweet, lazy tempered Dillon has this opposition to me lunging him. The first time I tried it was with a lunge line. (Note: I got him April 4th, 2013, by this point we were still getting used to each other and I didn't have half my confidence and Lead Mare personality as I do now.) He charged me and I flipped out, naturally. When I say charging, I mean ears pinned, neck stretched out, chest puffed out, charge. I swung my whip, hard, against one side then the other shouting at him fiercely. He reared 5 ft away and wheeled to the side, pulling the lungeline loose from my hand.

Anyway, I called my experienced super patient neighbor who doubles as my for-free riding teacher, she came over and made him lunge on that line. It made me feel better, because he charged her/pulled away from her a couple of times, but she backed him into a corner so he couldn't do that and after several charges, he also stopped that. She offered for me to bring him down to her place before riding so she could lunge him in her round pen. She did that and he responded so much better, no lunging, just extremely lazy. She got him to trot for a bit, but no canter. She then suggested we bring the round pen to our place, so we did. I, after hard work, got him to canter and trot and he lunged perfectly for about 2 weeks. Then, he resorted back to his old charging ways.

I got so fed up, not to mention the adrenaline rush in less than 10 seconds, and after 3 charges, I would take his halter and walk around, 20 minutes on each side, sometimes making him trot. He was irritated and resisted slightly, but did it. I eventually realized he wasn't acting as anxious and high spirited on the trails, so I stopped lunging him. Until he started his new things of quitting. That being said- I use a crop with him, I'm not afraid to whip him, and I'm open to suggestions. I want to do what's best for my horse, and I want to become a better equestrian. Thanks! :)

  • Why does my horse quit on me?

I have a palomino QH who is 8 years old. When I got him he was sold as greenbroke, but I noticed he had forgotten how to trot and canter, the owner had never gone into a gallop with him. I re-taught him the trot and canter, and we gallop now. He doesn't buck when he runs anymore. One thing he will do is just randomly quit. We'll be walking and he'll just stop. I'll tap him with the crop and kiss to him. No response. I'll use leg and he'll just pin his ears. I'll start to do a circle and he just stretches his neck, on both sides. I know my horse really well. He's just being rebellious. My cousin tried using some spurs... He just kicked under his belly and refused. He's ridden as a Western trail horse and is such a sweet gelding. Any idea on why he stops? (His teeth and feet are fine.)

  • Why is my hair greasy?

I don't eat lots of greasy food. I am a teen, so I know hormones can cause greasy hair. About three inches from the top of my head, down, it's dryish, fluffy, naturally wavy hair. I have a dry scalp, so I use a special shampoo for that, but those top three inches of hair are gross looking (Greasy) about halfway through the day. I don't use conditioner anymore, I don't over spread the shampoo on top. I'm tired of having gross hair halfway through the day because the rest of my hair looks really nice :( I have also tried not shampooing it every day. That made it worse.

  • Is my iPod broken for good?

My iPod touch 4th generation is screen cracked, but still working wondrously. Tonight I was on it and it popped up "20 percent" a few times. I had left the charger in the living room. I got up and walked to the living room and knelt down and dropped my iPod on the carpeted area below it, that also had a comforter on it. Maybe 6inches height.I talked with my mom and sister then went to get on my iPod. I pressed the Home button. Nothing but a blank screen. I assumed it was dead and plugged it in. It gave me the normal battery symbol with the little sliver of red. But it never turned back on. It's been 4 hours of charging. I've tried pressing the top and home button together. Just the top. Just the Home. Different outlets. Different USBs. Tried using computers. Can't online chat Apple because my iPod was manufactured over 5 years ago. I'm really peeved and about ready to smash the darned thing with a hammer. Please help!!

  • Did my iPod touch 4th gen. just crash?

It was near dead battery, and I walked to find my charger and when I got to it, it had already died. I clicked the "home" button or whatever it's called, usually it pops up an empty battery thing, but it didn't. I plugged it in and it showed the tiny sliver of red battery. It hasn't charged anymore or turned on in almost 30 minutes. Did I just lose my iPod??
