94 mercury villager's windshield wipers coming on by themselves and won't shut off?

The windshield wipers turn on along with the windshield wiper fluid spraying out without putting them on. The problem has tried to be resolved by putting a new switch in, but that didn't fix the problem. Any ideas on what the problem is and how to fix it?

That happens when the washer/intermitant wiper module is bad.Replacing the module will fix it.

hi, maximum wiper automobiles have a collection of things interior that permit the motor to "park", ie close off with the blades of their parked place. If those factors won't be able to be "tripped" the motor wil proceed to run. examine to make certain that the wiper hands at the instant are not blocked from their finished shuttle. now and returned leaves, twigs and different crud can get trapped under the windshield line and impeede the wiper hands. clean out this section if had to make certain if this could restore the issue. now and returned a pointy faucet on the motor with a rubber mallet will jar caught factors, yet whilst this does end the motor working, the restore is purely temporay and the motor will could desire to be rebuilt or replaced. solid good fortune

This is a guess, but those functions are probably controlled by a relay. The relay may be defective. Replacing it may solve the problem.
