Why does my van keep dieing out?
I have a 95 chevy astro van. It keeps dieing when we drive it. My wife had it taken to a repair shop. They had the cat converter replaced (it needed it), then we had the fuel filter, spark plugs and wires, distributor cap replaced. We think it could be a fuel pump or the cat. It only dies after driving it in the heat and after its been running for a while. Any ideas? 10 pts to the best answer!

it could be a bad crank position sensor, when it gets hot it loses the position of the crank and therefore the van dies, maybe also a temp sensor. somethings to look at

Since you're still guessing at the problem after taking it to a shop, maybe you should find a new shop.
Get a personal referral to an independent auto repair shop in your area from someone you trust.
Take your car to that shop and let them diagnose and repair the problem.
If the shop does good work and you're happy with them, give them all your future auto repair work.
Never use any of the franchise or chain type auto repair shops for various reasons.
Only use a dealer when the work to be performed is fully covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
Also, never purchase an after market warranty, ever.

If this is only happening when it gets hot then will start again after it cools down it is probably your coil.
