If I pay someone to redownload windows 7 will it give the option to save the files on the computer before the?

before the error occured on it that caused a complete failure as far as I can tell. Its an Asus laptop and it had a "error message" from day one which I ignored. It wasn't anerror abo0ut the hard drive so I just ignored it every time it came up. From what someone told me it depends on the brand wether you get that option. I can't think of the error code but some told me it awsn't programmed correctly from the factory but can be fixed in re-downlaod.

If your wanting to reload Windows and not lose your files, get a thumb drive or external drive and transfer them to it. If you get a thumb drive make sure it is big enough to hold all your files. You can also use the DVD and burn everything to blank DVDs.

To restore the lappy back to factory settings use the directions below.

If you can boot into Windows, click on start and then open your control panel. Then click on recovery. Then click on advance recovery and select return computer to factory conditions. Answer any question and the system should reboot. Answer a few more questions and then it should go on autopilot and reset your system back to factory conditions. This should take one or two hours. It is best to check on it to make sure everything is going fine. If your resetting a lappy, make sure you have the AC adapter plugged up. You do not want this process interrupted.

To use the recovery partition thru the BIOS follow these directions.

Using the Recovery Partition(on selected models)

    1. Press < F9 > during bootup.

    2. Press [Enter] to select Windows Setup [EMS Enabled].

    3. Select the language you want to recover and click Next.

    4. Read the ASUS Preload Wizard messages and click Next.

    5. Select a partition option and click Next. Partition options:

Option 1 Recover Windows to first partition only.

This option deletes only the first partition and allows you to keep other partitions, and to create a new system partition as drive "C".

Option 2 Recover Windows to entire HD.

This option deletes all partitions from your hard disk drive and creates a new system partition as drive "C".

Recover Windows to entire HD with two partitions. This option deletes all partitions from your hard drive and creates two new partitions "C" (25%) and "D" (75%).

    6. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the recovery process.

I did not design it, I did not build it, I did not break it, but I am the one who can fix it. What that means is that I have spent a life time taking these things apart and seeing how they are made. The difficult we do right away, the impossible just takes a little longer. I hear voices, so please be quite so I can listen to them.
