The FDA in my opinion has approved too many drugs that have been marketed to children who apparently have disorders such as ADD or ADHD. The US has some of the highest legal drug rates on kids in middle and high school, and none of these mind altering drugs should be given to preteens or teenagers when their mind is still developing, because these drugs effect motor skills, the ability to focus and comprehend and long and short term memory, much different than anti-depressants. In some cases of extreme circumstances pharmaceuticals can be and are necessary, but not to the level as they are now in the United States.
