Does everyone get a baby shower when they become pregnant.?

So when I was 18 I moved from my home town 700 miles away to a different state. I left my family friends and everyone and thing I knew for a man. I became pregnant had my first child with in a year. Because I had no family or friends I had no baby shower. He has three older daughters near the same age as me now 9 years later they have had children. For all three of their pregnancys they have all had baby showers. I now 7 years later after my first have decided to have another child. They all have been talking about giving me a baby shower my whole pregnancy however now my son is 2 months old (yes i have already givin birth to hom) still just all talk. Sometimes I really miss my family. I guess you don't know what you have till its gone. How should I think or feel about this or am I just feeling sorry for my self?
