Hmm... The closest thing to Mushishi is and Kino is Haibane Renmei. I watched it, before Kino and heard they were both similar, I was not let down. Both of these shows leave things open-ended, even after the end. If you're interested in thinking about the world that the characters live in when you watch anime, what important concepts are expressed in anime, or want to still think about a show long after it's over, these two shows work well. While they cover different ideas among those concepts, I feel they both cause similar responses.

Shin Sekai Yori is definitely different from the other two. The first anime that comes to mind with this show is Pycho-Pass. Each anime deals with hidden secrets in a sovciety And both of these shows heavily deal with moral issues. Just like Shin Sekai Yori, whenever a person emotion gets out of hand the individual is killed by the ethical courts. In pyscho pass instead a group of police like operates kill these indivduals( sort of like the police). Both the main cast uncover a secret. So yep these shows don't get any more similar sorry about the spoilers

If you decide to watch it Habiene is similar to Kino Journey and Mushishi. It's definitely the better one out of the two gives you the same feeling 13 episodes I believe. In addition Pycho-Pass I believe is the same amount of episodes as Shin Sekai Yori
