God has many names; Yahweh is the main one I think... I mean He has many names and all the names in the Holy Bible have meaning. Even today.

The first rule of any Religion is to use threats and scare tactics to put enough fear into people (eg. Hell) so they think if they ever question doctrine they will be punished.
