What is a domain - Maths?

There is a question that says "find the largest possible domain". What is a domain?

    The X values. All the values of x the equation can hit. It can be certain points (3,2) domain is 3 or multiple domain anything greater than 4

    Range is all the possible y-values

    Parenthesis due to the fact that denotes a non-inclusive area when you consider that infinity is a suggestion, no longer a quantity, it are not able to be integrated in the bounds of the area- hence no brackets. (-inf, inf)
