***Moving to Miami with $1600 and a car. Is it doable?***?

So, I'm thinking about moving from WA state, to Miami, Fl.

I have $1600 and a car. I will need to find a job immediately and start working so I can afford an apartment there. Do you think this is feasible for me to do, or is this crazy talk?

Update:

No. You don't have enough money. Not even close. Gas alone will take a big chunk out of that $1,600. To rent an apartment, you need first month and last month's rent plus a security deposit (sometimes equal to the rent) up front and a job. Speaking of jobs, you'd have to be extremely lucky to find one (not minimum wage) when you get there. Unemployment in South Florida is high. Also, it's Miami. You must speak Spanish fluently or you won't get the job.

Have you been to Miami? It's not all palm trees, white sand beaches, and hot women. Parts of it are very poor and full of crime. You need money to afford the nice areas.

Dont do it. Stay in Washington State, better job opportunities. I live in Miami now and am trying to get out. Have you even visited? Are you moving here for a particular reason? Sexy people? Weather? Miami is not what you think it is. Sexy Miami with the sun and hot girls/guys is only a fraction of this city. The rest is obese people, McDonalds, crappy malls, and a bad job market. Did I say a bad job market (think Las Vegas or San Bernardino bad). Also if you get caught in a bad side of town you are dead meat. Rent is fairly expensive. To live the Miami lifestyle you need $$$$$$$. If you come down here I suggest you learn Spanish, bring at least $10,000 and most of all a GOOD car. Good luck whatever you do but my advice is to not come here, you will not find a high paying job for years. Stay out west and go to Cali or Seattle or Portland.

no. no job before getting there, no place to live. you will use the $1600 for gas.
