Have we lost the real meaning of Easter?
How can we remind people of the true meaning of Easter? The bunny represents Christ's love and how it proliferates wildly, the painted eggs represent the beautiful gospel of Christ's resurrection, and the egg hunt represents our search for truth.

The Catholic Encyclopedia tells us: “A great many pagan customs, celebrating the return of spring, gravitated to Easter. The egg is the emblem of the germinating life of early spring. . . . The rabbit is a pagan symbol and has always been an emblem of fertility.”—(1913), Vol. V, p. 227.
The Encyclopædia Britannica comments: “There is no indication of the observance of the Easter festival in the New Testament, or in the writings of the apostolic Fathers. The sanctity of special times was an idea absent from the minds of the first Christians.”—(1910), Vol. VIII, p. 828.

'Real' Christians never celebrate any of Satan's many deceptions, including Lent, Christmas and Easter.
In ancient times pagans dipped their hard boiled eggs in the blood of sacrificed infants - that's what the chocolate cover represents. The others have explained exactly what sort of a pagan festival is it.
Secondly, the NT tells us exactly that Jesus was crucified and died at 15h01 on a Wednesday so that He could conquer hell over 3 days and arise on the 1st day of the week - anytime after 6pm on a Saturday. Now think about the lies about 'Good Friday' for one.
So, if you are a sanctified Christian please avoid these satanic high-days like the plague!! You may become infested!!

Umm....actually, the bunny and the eggs are Celtic pagan traditions to celebrate a goddess of the dawn. And the name of that goddess? Eostre. That's why the holiday wasn't celebrated or named until after missionaries had visited the British isles and brought these traditions back with them.
But don't take my word for it. Look it up.
In reality, the more you grasp at the symbols of the holiday, the further you move away from Christianity.

For me easter does not have any connection to religion. BUT .. thank you for explaining how bunnies and eggs came to be involved. I really did not know that and now I've learned something new... which is always a good thing. Whether or not I agree doesn't matter. Some do and I'm glad I now know this.

The word translated into English as 'easter' one time out of dozens was always translated Passover.
1 Corinthians 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8 Therefore let us keep the feast , not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Yeah what happened? Back in the good old days there used to be orgies to celebrate the goddess of fertility. Now all we have are eggs and bunnies.

Too many people today no longer have any respect for Christianity and that is unfortunate. The United States seems to have adopted secular humanism as its religion. It is seen in politics, TV, movies, and all forms of the media. I am a Christian and never lose sight of Christ's love and His overcoming death which is why we celebrate Easter.

The pagan goddess of fertility.
Passover is the correct translation. Christ became our Passover, not our Easter bunny.

Some have. The bunny, and the egg are fertility symbols. Sunrise service is sun worshiper's ritual. Ishtar was a fertility goddess of pagan origin.
