As a native of Florida, I can definitely relate to your sunburn dilemma; that is why staying safe in the sun is so important! I always recommend beach hats and sunscreen. Tanning in my Maaji bikinis almost every weekend on the beach for too long has definitely gotten me into trouble in the form of some bad sunburns. So here is what I recommend for you to help treat your sunburn:
(1) Definitely do not take any hot showers; keep the water cool - hot showers will irritate your sensitive skin and could cause the problem to worsen
(2) Apply aloe vera on a consistent basis - a good tip is to keep the aloe in the fridge and then apply it. The cooling sensation from the cold aloe definitely relieves the burning sensation!
(3) If this does not help, go to your local pharmacy; they may have some sunburn relief cream that you can purchase.
(4) After the burning passes, make sure to apply skin lotion to prevent your skin from peeling too badly; unfortunately, this will happen.
Hope this helps! :)

Go buy some Aloe Vera! It's green and comes from a cactus plant and is great for soothing sunburns and moisturizing skin. You can purchase it at your local drug store or superstore! :) it's what I use when I get a sun burn and it take the red out of the burn over night and makes the burn feel better too! Hope this helped :) and to apply it you don't wash it off, you leave it on your skin like moisturizing cream :)

Aloe is the best thing for any burn. I use it all the time for sun burn. I just got back from the beach and my mom had sun poisoning and she swears by aloe. Aloe/ aloe Vera cools the skin down but it doesn't last long. Take a pain killer if you hurt to move with it.

You can also soak a paper towel in white vinegar and place it on the sunburn...helps to take out the "sting" of the burn.
