it is my first time going to an airport without an adult ... i am 15.?
i'm only 15 and i'm going to the cedar rapids iowa airport without an adult. just with my 13 year old brother. i'm only worried because we are landing in the denver colorado airport... and we will also leave to come back to the cedar rapids one from denver. supposedly denver's airport is big and scary. how do i navigate? and how do i stay safe? and how the heck do i get through security and know where to go?
i am sorry that i forgot to add this... but they consider me an adult in the airport, so i will not be getting an escort through the airport or during the flight.

Don't be nervous, it's really easy! Your parents can be with you when you check in. This is where you'll get your boarding pass and drop off your bags if you have any checked luggage.
The next part is security. It sounds intimidating but it's really not. There will probably be a line you have to stand in, but once it's your turn a TSA agent will probably ask your age (but neither you or your brother need ID because you're under 18.) Then you'll put all your things, including shoes, into bins to send through the x-ray machine. Next you'll go through a scanner yourself, and when you're on the other side you just grab your things, put your shoes back on and you're done. :)
The last part is finding your gate, which sounds like it would be really difficult in a big airport but it's not, because airports have signs everywhere. But if you get lost you can always ask someone in the airport and they'll be happy to help you.

Hey. Im 17 and ive been traveling by myself (in airports) since i was 14. (i travel ALOT) Find your way around will be easy once your past the gates, (though i have never been to that airport) there should be signs and maps everywhere, just be sure to pay attention to them. When you get to your gate just waited for them to start boarding and follow their instructions
To stay safe? While you may have heard bad things happening on planes and in airports (such as the stereotypical terrorist). Ever since i have travel (and ive been traveling since i was about 7, only started going by myself at 14) but nothing bad has ever happened to me. Just be sure to always keep track the baggage youre carrying.
Security should also be easy. just go to the security checkpoint, show your ID and plane to the security agent and theyll let to continue to the metal detectors. Be sure to put all of your items (check pockets, belts, necklaces, etc) through the x-ray machine. If youre wearing shoes (sandals are ok ( if i remember correctly) , youll also need to take those off.

Just ask for directions if you get lost.
When you get to the gate, there will be flight attendants waiting for you and they will accompany you throughout the flight and the waiting. They'll put you on the plane first and you'll be the last out.
Don't you worry about a thing, you'll be fine! :)
