Did MLB give Braun a "slap on the wrist"?

Read somewhere where this 65 game suspension (65 meaningless games since Milw is out of it) will account for about 3% of his contact, which is nothing at all considering the appeared hatred Bud had towards Braun. Is it a rest of the season deal or rest of the season "and we will see" deal.

The boy is going to lose about $3,500,000 of the $8,500,00 he scammed for this season. He'll make more than the vast majority of MLB fans but still take a substantial hit at the bank. But it's not this year the lowlife is worried about...what if the suspension came in 2016, when he was making $19,000,000 a year? That would really hurt.

That's why I'm an advocate for having the contracts voided for players who are suspended for drug use. They obtained those contracts under false pretenses and shouldn't to be allowed to profit from their illicit acts.

I'm mean, look at Braun in 2012 when he was on the juice: a homer every 14.6 at bats and a .595 slugging percentage. This year, off the juice, the boy homers every 25 at bats and has a slugging percentage almost 100 points lower than last year.

The boy is clearly an ordinary player without steroids, so why should he be rewarded for using them? And that's exactly what will happen if he's allowed to collect the $113,000,000 he's contracted for over through 2020.

The boy cheated to make money and he will, ultimately, be rewarded. That's why he took the suspension and that's why Selig and MLB are a joke. Braun should make the league minimum starting next year.

Given that the standard for a first failed test is 50 games, and Braun was not known to have tested positive in this case, I'd say it's not too bad.

As for the idea that it's not enough because Milwaukee is out of, does that man that you feel the punishment should be longer for him because he plays on a bad team? So does a player on a first place team get less of a penalty? You can't have different suspensions based on how a player's team is doing. And you certainly can't say "let's wait to suspend him until a time comes when the Brewers are in the race again."

The point about 65 games only being 3% of his contract is also rather silly as well. Braun I in the first part of a long contract. Had this been his last season under contract, you could say he was suspended for 100% of his contract, couldn't you? Again, do you want different punishments for players with long term contracts and those who are near the end of a deal?

Finally, it is for the rest of the season only. No way any player (or the union) agree to an undetermined suspension.

I would consider it just a slap on the wrist for Ryan Braun. The Brewers are out of the playoff chase this season. Corey Hart is out, Yovani Gallardo, and Rickey Weeks are having bad seasons. They just traded K-Rod to the Orioles. So it's not like he's missing any important games. Barely any of his salary is being taken from him. He's still making a ton of money. And he'll be making even more money this year. So I think that's how a lot of people including him would see it.

So far it's just the rest of the season from what I've heard. I'm wondering if he'll get another punishment on top because this isn't the first time he's done stuff like that.

Compared to what a-rod is probably going to get, I'd say this is slightly less than a slap on the wrist
