Protein levels for donating plasma?

I seem to have trouble getting my protein to a high enough level for donating plasma. At BioLife, protein levels must be between 6.0-9.0. Not exactly sure what the numbers mean but I, a lot of times, have too low of protein, and I don't think it's because I don't eat enough. For instance, this morning at about 9am, I had 2 eggs in an egg bagel with yogurt and milk for breakfast which is about 25-30 grams of protein. Then at about 10:20, I ate a protein bar with 10g of protein and still only had a protein level of 5.9 at 11:35 at BioLife. Last night for supper I had some chicken, too.

So is it possible that my body consumes protein faster than others? A nurse at BioLife said that is a possibility. Maybe I just need to eat more protein? Should I eat it more throughout the day before I donate too? It doesn't make a difference which finger I get pricked with right?

P.S. I don't like peanut butter but I'll eat peanut protein bars :)
