Help with ticket please?

So i got a ticket in Santa Monica and I live in Los Angeles. It was for "drinking on the beach." It wasn't my drink it was my friends but he was under 18 so I took the rap even though I am only 19. The Cop didn't arrest me(even though I thought he legally has too. Can I use this to get off if I fight it?) I don't have a drivers license. Could they put points on my record if I don't pay even though I do not have a license? Other then a warrant what could they do? Would this ticket imped me from getting my license? I don't have a job as I am a college student so I really don't plan on going and paying or fighting as I can't pay either way. The system is so messed up, you have to pay to get a court date if you want to fight it... Yeah really innocent until proven guilty... Sorry that last part was a rant.

The cop gave you a "citation" - and yes you have to pay a bail in order to get a court date (its' the same as the fine - if you don't want to plead your case in front of the judge) This is the cost of living - or the "devil to pay" -- suck it up, pay the fine (bail) and chalk it up to bad judgment on your part! You should never take the "rap" for someone else's crime. NEXT TIME - SHUT UP!

You do not pay the ticket a warrant will be issued for your arrest.

And yes that warrant will mess you up with jobs, school, and even a DL

Pay the ticket and get it over with, but you will still have a MIP charge on your record, but that is better than a warrant where you will be locked up if they catch you

And yes you should have been arrested for MIP, but the officer gave you a break because you were not driving, and now you want to BLAME the officer for not doing his or her job?

PLEASE take that to the judge, explain that even though you were given a ticket for MIP knowing the legal age for having alcohol, somehow it is the officers fault for not doing his job. I am sure the judge will take that into consideration when he finds you guilty and does lock you up, so go ahead and make that complaint and see where it gets you
