Is there a way to make an old analogue clock quiet?

I bought an old, analog clock(General Electric). Its electric powered, and the hand turns, rather than ticks. It makes a constant buzzing sound, kind of like angry bees. Is there a way to quiet it down?

    Doubtful. Those old clocks used the electromagnetic vibration from the 60 Hz AC current. This vibrator pulsed the clockworks to advance the hands. This was typical until they invented a small motor to move the hands.
