GE Refrigerator white plastic door handles turned yellow-how to whiten?
My refrigerator is about 6-7 years old. White plastic door handles have turned yellow. Besides painting, has anyone had success getting them white again? What worked?
Only reason I can guess plastic yellowed is age. Nothing has been used [no harsh chemical cleaners] on it except soap/water to clean. It has yellowed uniformly the entire length, handles on both sides [it is a side-by-side refrigerator]

It depends upon the plastic and the reason for yellowing.
If you can remove the handles and scrub them with a very low abrasive cleanser (e.g. Bon-Ami) you may be successful. However, if the yellowing is due to apparent pigment fade due to polymer degradation this may not work. It is worth a try but there is NO guarantee.
