Please help me with this medical math question?

I'm sure this is simple, but I can't figure out how to set this up. Please tell me the specific steps:

Question: The doctor wrote an order for 8.5 ml of Tylenol w/ Codeine Elixir. The elixir comes as Tylenol-120 mg and Codeine-12mg per each 5 ml.

So how many mg of Tylenol are in 8.5 ml and how many mg of codeine are in 8.5 ml?

Please tell me how to figure this out. Thanks!

How: Since the doctor ordered 8.5 ml and the specifications are for 5 ml, the dosage is 8.5/5 times the mg of each component.

a ml =the volume of 1 gram (by weight) of pure water. One would need to know the specific gravity of the material to convert exactly to the equivalent in mg.

What should I avoid while taking acetaminophen?

Ask a doctor or pharmacist before using any other cold, allergy, pain, or sleep medication. Acetaminophen (sometimes abbreviated as APAP) is contained in many combination medicines. Taking certain products together can cause you to get too much acetaminophen which can lead to a fatal overdose. Check the label to see if a medicine contains acetaminophen or APAP.

Avoid drinking alcohol. It may increase your risk of liver damage while taking acetaminophen.
