Will there be a season 2 for Angel Beats?

It is unlikely that there will be a season 2. Nothing has been announced for it, although there are a lot of rumours floating around and a lot of people stating there WILL be a season 2, but these are all fans who are making it up building up the hopes of themselves and others. No official source has even mentioned a season 2, and as they haven't even mentioned it in the years since it was released there is unlikely to ever be a season 2.

There is, however, a visual novel being made, which is based on the main series that was released.

In case you aren't aware of what one is, a visual novel is kinda like novel, but with pictures and sometimes animations too, but unlike normal novels, they have branching paths to take, as you choose how the story plays out. Every so often you are presented with a set of decisions to make as to how the story plays out, usually in the form of a choice of what to say or what actions to take. After making the decision, you read and watch as the story unfolds.

This visual novel may end up to be better as the series, as it is likely to have more detail added to the storyline. The anime had to have the entire storyline fit into only 13 episodes. So with the visual novel they'll be able to stretch it out and add more in.

Angel Beats Season 2

possibly, considering that they are creating a manga series(thick backwards comic books) that stands as sort of a prequel to the original series and fills in some of the Character's back stories like "Noda" or "Shiina" and many others that were left out in the anime. Not to mention now they've created this franchise around the anime that likely they will create a prequel to the original series following after the manga series's storyline, however it may be years before that is put into fruition but with a now well developed franchise and angel beats being a very approachable anime compared to other "Moe" high school based anime's and has so far been very well marketed it is likely that they will eventually come out with a prequel but it is unknown when that might be.

If they do it may be treated as a separate series, like "Fate/zero" was to "Fate Stay Night"

They have been talking about it same with deadman wonderland. but u never know the first season was made in 2010 that was 3 years ago but better late then never right lol. I hope they do to it was a very heart warming anime that made me cry

there was talk about it at one point, but seeing that it was over a year ago and the source i saw was a picture of a magazine from japan (dont have the link anymore sorry)
