Do you like where you live?

Are there good employment opportunities? Good social life? Affordable housing? Low crime rate? Are you happy where you live or are you hoping to move?

Update:

I'm very unhappy where I live and in desperate need of a change. I have a somewhat decent job, but I truly dislike it, and really hate the demeanor of the people around here..

I assure you, I have no interest in stalking people. Just in need of a positive change. Curious if people are happy where they are..

Update 2:

What's keeping me here is fear most likely. I've lived here, Cape Cod, my whole life. I am not a beachy person, really prefer mountains and cooler weather, it is a vacation mecca which makes life miserable because I am not on these people's vacation, but trying to survive and get groceries and lunch and gas and everything takes 35 minutes longer if you ever want to try to do anything or get somewhere. People here are just incredibly rude, inconsiderate, self-absorbed and have an unfounded degree of self-entitlement.

I have a job where I make decent money and have decent benefits, and I am currently pregnant, which is making a move seem really scary. Do we try before the baby or after? Should we find housing first or a job? I basically need to weigh the pros and cons and take a chance.

I love it. Reasonable employment. Great social life. Very affordable housing (depending on how fussy you are). Crime rate a bit high. No plans to move for a while. You?

Sorry, it sounds like you need to move. If you are free to do so, then what is holding you there? Just don't think that anywhere else will automatically be better. What is it about the place and people that is so bad?

A baby adds another dimension - sorry, no experience of that, but I would think moving just before giving birth would be doubling the stress. I would suggest that getting a new job would be the best move - unless you have enough money to go without a job for a while.

    1) yes. I have been in the same job for over eight years and 2.5 years ago moved from quite far away because there is a good chance I will stay in this job for a long time or possibly even until retirement....

    2) Much improved. I will miss many aspect of where I was, but the area has gone downhill and people are (mostly) much friendlier here. I actually know who my neighbours on all sides!

    3) Affordable housing? Relatively, very much so. For the price of the place I moved out from (smallish flat/appartment) I now have a medium sized house, fair sized garden but still walking distance to a station.

    4) Have been here over two years and never had a problem yet. If I look at the police statistics website, it shows as only slightly better than where I moved from. But my experience says otherwise!

    5) Want to make major works on the house. If can do here (e.g. planning permision etc etc) will be happy to stay here for 5-10+ years. If not, will probably move within five years, though not sure how far away.

Reasonable employment opportunities, great social life, reasonable housing costs, very low crime rate. I'm hoping to stay here but I may have to live at least 2 hours away :( when I leave for university depending on which one I go to.

The conditions in this world dictate that we have to constantly strive to survive.

In today's life, one cannot be too fussy if one needs to work to survive.

Perseverance in the face of such adversity.

Make sure one gets a new job befor resigning from the old job.

    Be patient !
