Christians wear crosses to symbolize the final resting place of Jesus?

So the reason Christians wear a cross is to symbolize Jesus dieing on one.....What would they wear if jesus had been used as a gimp and was violently raped to death?

There are many types of crosses with many symbolic meanings. The cross that Jesus died on was his throne on Earth.

The Latin cross is mostly plain. The Evanglists cross has the four Evangelists, Mathew, Mark, Luke and John on each end, or four buds on each end. There is a Gothic skull cross with a skull at the bottom and the spear and the pole with vinegar. The is an apostle cross with three buds on each end. There is the fluer de lies cross with lillies. There is the St. Thomas cross. There are dagger crosses. There are crucifixes and risen Lord crosses. There are crosses with doves. There are crosses with scripture. There are crosses with relics. There are Irish crosses. Russian crosses. There are crosses on rosaries. There are Cathedral crosses. There are also free standing and wall crosses. Thers are Saints medals with crosses.

Some people wear a fish, dove or anchor. He was scourged on a pillar, but I haven't seen that one. :-)

I think Christians become more inspired when they wear a replica of a Roman torturing device around their neck.

Some Christians wear crosses (as opposed to crucifixes) to remind themselves that Jesus died on the cross, but He's no longer on that cross; He is risen.

Actually, no. We wear an EMPTY cross to symbolize not only what Christ has done for us, but the fact that He is no longer there; He is risen.
