Why do Atheists never get possessed by demons?

Well, no one gets possessed because demons aren't real...so the percentage of people overall who get possessed by demons is 0%.

The people who you think are possessed THINK they're possessed because they've been indoctrinated to believe that certain symptoms of mental illnesses are caused by invisible monsters that take over your body. So they never get help, because they think only a priest or whatever can help them. Self-suggestion + lack of proper treatment = "demon possession".

This doesn't happen to people who don't believe in such things, because they are aware that what they are suffering is nothing more than a treatable mental illness, so they eventually get the proper treatment and move on with their lives.

I believe you are wrong about that. Atheists are more likely to be possessed than theists. They just don't know what's happened to them.

In order to actually become possessed by a demon, one has to in some way give permission. People most at risk for this would be those grieving over a recent death of a love one and desperately wanting to contact the deceased. They can trick such people by seeming to be a helpful guide.

Atheists would be less vulnerable in this case because they don't believe there's any possibility of communicating with their lost love one.

Because what other people call demonic possession, we call "mental instability". Funny enough, when those people get treated by doctors, they end up calling it mental instability as well....

Needless to say, demons or ghosts or what not do NOT exist. There hasn't been an actual, proven, recorded case of demonic possession with someone doing impossible things "à la Exorcist" in recordable history....

Possession, demons, hell, all religious concepts. Possession is exclusive to the religiously inclined.

Oh yeah, Atheism has a term for this possession, it's called sleep paralysis. Look it up.

Sigh ...... your demons are whatever bad thing controls you. It could be cigarettes, alcohol, being abused when you were young, the list goes on. So anyone can be demon possessed. That craziness and thrashing that some people call demon possession is just mental illness or drama.

Nobody does. Demons don't exist.

People on this website have actually said that demons don't need to attack us because they're already "controlling" us. They have an answer for everything. On a side note, it's interesting that many of them think sleep paralysis is actually a demonic attack; I'm an atheist and I get sleep paralysis constantly. I mean, which is it? Is sleep paralysis demonic or not? And if it is, why is someone on "Satan's team" getting attacked?

The easiest way to avoid demonic possesion, ghosts, curses, hexes, etc is to not believe in any of that. Works everytime. If you don't believe in demons you won't be bothered by them.

Because atheists generally do not have delusions about demons existing.

Nice question! Well firstly sometimes you are possessed and don't even know..yup, a demon doesn't have to manifest itself. Also Satan is extremely smart, why would his demons manifest itself in someone who does not believe in the true and living God? They will eventually have to turn to God and thus depending on how stubborn they are they might actually begin to believe in God. I really don't think the devil would like that.
