Why don't I get alerts on Yahoo! anymore when I comment on news articles and get thumbs up or new comments?

It used to be in the upper right hand corner of my screen when I was on any Yahoo! connected page. Now it only shows up on about one out of every ten or more. It's hardly discussion anymore if you don't know when someone has responded to what you've posted and it's defintely a whole lot less fullfilling to launch a carefully constructed argument or comment into the cyber-sphere and never hear anymore about it ever again. Is Yahoo! trying to discourage commentary on their articles for some reason?

I know... I feel the same way. You get a daily update of your posts and that's it. By then, there is no point in replying to someone's comments on your earlier posts. As to why they decided to make that change... I don't know. But I don't like it either.

We may never know what Yahoo's motivations for doing this but it is a serious pain in the ***. This is why I stopped commenting because I hate jumping back and forth every half hour or so.

But to answer your question it is because Yahoo scrapped it for this new format.
