Why are left wing Americans protesting another countries laws?
First I have to say this is not about gay bashing but rather an argument of a Countries own Sovereignty. While I disagree with gay morality I respect them as people and have no bothers with them getting married. I respect the several States law legalized their rights of marriage. Thus I acknowledge them as married under the law of that state.
For my question.....
Do far left Americans really think that they hold weight on the worlds stage?
I read an article that Americans are protesting Russia's Anti-Gay Legislation.While I completely understand why they are protesting I can also understand them protesting in America about American gay rights, but to protest another country over what they see as legitimate in their eye is wrong. While you may disagree with their policies you have to remember, They have their own sovereignty with different ideals thus the reason country boarders were created in the first place. I do not see this having any effect on Russian policy what so ever.
So whats your take on this issue.. Remember lets act like adults and discuss this in a peaceful manner..
@ Sarah.... Murdering people over beliefs is indeed wrong. That is of the highest violation oh human rights. But Iran is a theocracy, that also bosts up to 500,000 Christian citizens. Iran is not known for the standards of human rights as America and the western world holds dear. while it is wrong to kill those people Iran is and should be allowed To imprison them. If their law provides such a punishment.

Because the First Amendment guarantees their freedom of speech.
People in other countries protest America all the time, so why can't Americans protest other countries when they want?
Most protests don't have much influence on public policy, but that doesn't mean protesting is pointless. Left wing Americans have a right to express their opinion just as much as right wing Americans.

So, you're ok with Iran murdering Christians because, under their laws, it's legal?
Surely, you've heard of republicans being outraged over Christian pastors being killed in Iran. I see now that you think republicans shouldn't protest about it and just respect Iran's sovereignty.

Keep in mind Mr Obama told us he did not favor same sex marriage ''my wife and I are devote Christian and as Christians we believe marriage is between a man and a women'' after his election he did over turn don't ask don't tell in our military the gay community were protesting his inaction he told them ''we are trying we need time'' at the time I said ''time to do what'' and this was about two year back I found out what he went on national T V and told us he as evolved and now favors same sex marriage

Its called pan-liberalism, the belief that all liberals around the world should unite against the evils of concervatives everywhere regardless of the effects such actions will have on their own nations.
