What percentage of murders in US from semi-automatic rifles?

Question

I have googled a bunch but not been able to find this data. 

-Specifically I would like to know about MURDERS, not homicides, since they are different things
-Also I'd like it to be limited RIFLES, specifically semi-automatic ones

Other than the recent mass killing in CT,  almost none.   Essentially all murders are handguns or knives (and less frequently, cars)/   This is the reason that Canada decided after many years to discontinue long gun registration -  on the insistence of the federal police who found that the record of registering rifles (both bolt and semi-auto), resulted in the solutions to almost no crimes over the past 10 -15 years.

Saw the numbers recently but can't remember where, statistically you have a greater chance of dying from the Flu than being murdered with one of those EVIL semi-automatic rifles.

438 per year. This number is what you asked for. On the other hand the semi automatic hammer and clubs were responsible for 613 murders. While 1694 can be attributed to semi automatic cutting instruments.

I read it somewhere.. i think it's less than 1%

sorry.. found it (2011)

It's 2.5% for rifles
49% for handguns
the rest..... hammers.. hands.. knives etc
