How did God come to be?
I was having a conversation with a coworker today and I am a faithful Christian, I have no doubt in my mind that God exists and he is an atheist. We were having a friendly argument and I brought up how everything is evidence of God's existence. I said that everything is here because of God and stuff just can't magically appear, everything needs a creator which is God. But he made a really good point, he said "Then how was God created?" And I had nothing to say to that.. As far as I know there's no biblical explanation for how God was created. Or am I wrong? Is there?
And if you don't believe in God, that's okay, please just move onto the next question, I don't need a bunch of people being like "He was never created because he doesn't exist".
Gooby- Haha that's true, that's a good point. I meant my coworker's an atheist though. I guess I could've worded that better

He was created by higher unknown bein . This higher bein never introduced himself to him so god always believed he was the only one.

Unanswerable question at this time ,no one knows the very beginning , best you can get is that the universe was always there and never got created , the god hypothesis is claimed the same thing always there . seems this could literally could go on forever I am atheist but lets say you discovered what made god ,you now must ask what made that ? see how its just makes a new question for infinity if your mind sticks with creation . you must consider what is nothing ,think about it .we have no proof of nothing .the air looks like nothing but its something air , in space you still have something ,space ,I know its a tough one. you can say god did it only because you don't no what it is ,
a believer in god doesn't realize the maddening leap he is making from that "god" to the one he is believing, a man god that answers prayers and is reading your mind in search for sins .and all the holy book stories .

The mystery's of faith an GOD are beyond human comprehension.
Faith concerns questions which cannot be settled by evidence.
How can the universe create itself out of nothingness? Given the fact that the universe began to exist, it must have had a “cause” that originated it.Doesn't it make more sense to assume the existence of a Creation.
You can't see the wind, but you know it is there because you can see what the wind is doing. You can know that the wind is there because you can feel it.God is like the wind, you can't see him.

God did not "come to be". He is by definition eternal and uncreated.
There is a fairly reasonable argument that the universe could be co-eternal with God, but then it just shift's God's mode of necessary agency, from creator to sustainer and shaper of the actual universe.

Genesis 1:1, In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth. God has no beginning and no ending. God was not created.

Never mind your question. I want to know how everything is evidence of god. Everything needs a creator is simply an untrue statement.

A better argument would have been that throwing 'God did it' as an answer to something we don't currently understand, is a little bit foolish. It may not make sense to us now how matter came to be, but that does not give us the ability to make our own answers.

He was thought up by primitive goat hearders similar to those who came up with or 'borrowed' some of the stories, which arbitrarily happened to make into that selection of bronze age short stories, commonly known as the bible.

The bible is not evidence, it's a story. Fiction. It's so full of holes it's mostly air.
Believe what you want, but your god is imaginary.

I guess when time began, there just had to be something instead of nothing... yeah i really don't know
