what is so unhealthy about whey-based protein powders?

I'm older but still trying to gain some muscle mass. Whey protein seems to be the most economical of the muscle-gaining powders, but I'm trying to ween off of dairy as much as possible. I'm not competing or anything, but I would like to gain about 15-pounds of muscle mass. Any good suggestions?

These are just protein products extracted from dairy products.. Mostly milk. It's actually a by-product of some kinds of yoghurt production....

It's not that they are unhealthy, it's just that they are unnecessary. Most Americans eat far more protein than they could ever assimilate anyway. The American diet is pretty much protein-rich; we eat lots of meat, cheese, dairy products, grains, etc.

You can only assimilate so much protein... Any extra just goes into the toilet.... So for most people all those protein supplements are just wasted money.

Just eat a balanced diet and do a good lifting routine. The weight-lifting tactics for gaining size are quite different than those used by athletes to gain strength..... Check out several body-building forums and see what kind of routines are recommended.

earnings muscle and lose wait on the comparable time what!? protein powder helps you earnings muscle and exercising helps you shed pounds. protein powder doesnt do all the artwork while you at the instant are not understanding you're taking it two times an afternoon - morning once you awaken and night earlier you sleep. and while you're understanding, take purely one serving of protein after.

there is nothing unhealthy about it. if you want to gain muscle, what you need to do is work out like a !!!BEAST!!! you should be getting 12 reps max on 1st set, 11 max on 2nd, 9 max on 3rd, 8 max on 4th. if you don't struggle to lift on your last 2 reps, your weight is too light
