What is one band that means a lot to you?
and if you care to, please explain why.
The one band I hold very near and dear to me is Circa Survive. I used to be very unhappy till I found out about, I didn't like them much at first but I started listening more and more.
A lot of the lyrics felt very relevant to me and they still do, A lot of the subjects in their music made me realize that all I had to do was let go of all the negative stuff in my life to live comfortably. I think their music really gives all the emotions and meanings in their own sound (if that makes sense)

Say Anything
Musically, they've disappointed me (especially their last album) but they were definitely a big part of my childhood. A lot of the lyrics talked about bi-polar disorder, social anxiety and drug issues, all of which I can relate to. They'll always have a special place in my heart tbh
BQ1: I like the entire '...is a real boy' album.
BQ2: Good, thanks. Eating Chinese food at the moment, so I can't complain

Dir en grey is and I can always imagine will be that band. I'll be honest and say the band used to scare me when I first listened to them what with their music video to Obscure being the first thing I encountered. I was thinking, these guys have a couple of screws missing and maybe I do as I kept coming back to it.
Long story short, I listened through their whole discography saw how much they had changed over the years. Found songs like Mushi and Riyuu; and love how much passion goes into the music like nothing outside their own desires is swaying how songs sound or performed. I never understood the language but always felt the meanings behind the song were always present in how it was played.

In relation to your question it would have to be Mushi http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JNsYqlIvzE

The Beatles. Not that original to have as a favourite band, I know. Many teenagers today are like "omg, I love the Beatles!" without even knowing who they are or what they've done.
But one day I was scrolling through videos on youtube and I stumbled across Let It Be. I listened to it and simply fell in love. Now I own every record they've made and I simply know way too much personal about the band ;)
But to put it simple - each member of the band have helped me through different parts of my life and without them, there is absolutely no doubt that I would be so different than I am today. I respect each of the members of the band as good persons with flaws like any other.
I don't "worship" them as "peace gurus" or something that people overrate them so much about. I just deeply respect them and I love every bit of music they've ever made because even if it's a song they've spend 80 hours recording or just a take of a song where they fool around, it's perfect for me.
Source(s): I don't really know how to choose one favourite song, and with fear of sounding unoriginal I just really love Let It Be. It's the first Beatles song I fell in love with and I'll always become happy when I listen to it. - Anonymous8 years ago
When I first came across 'Cinderella,' instantly I loved the sound of Tom's voice, and the way their music sounds. The songs they had so much meaning to them, and it somehow matched my life in some ways. For a while, Cinderella was my favorite. A lot of people say Tom's voice is scratchy, but it actually isn't. He can change his voice in ways, and sing at different tones and paces which makes his music interesting. He lost his voice three times from vocal cord paralysis, but out of all surgery's, he always managed to sing again. Cinderella's songs are absolutely beautiful. No one on this section will change my mind about that, no matter how much they laugh at my choice in music and make jokes about what I like. The song I got in BQ1 has always made me feel better for some reason, and that is hard for a song to do to me... Out of my years of listening to rap at first, not one artist or song would catch my attention like Cinderella has did. The song 'Coming home' made me realize to never give up, and continue doing what you're doing. Don't give up on finding your way. Another song by Cinderella which speaks so much truth is 'You don't know what you got til' it's gone.'
BQ1: Oh my, I got a ton of favorites from them, but this song makes me melt :D Coming home- Cinderella http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-qG6o5N7oQ

BQ3: I like milk :'D
