Christians and Atheists how would you define the meaning of these scriptures?
Please let's be civil and stick to the question at hand. If you're not gonna honestly answer the question of how you interpret this scripture than please don't answer it at all. There's no need to be rude and immature on here!
Proverbs 1: 22-33
22 “How long will you who are simple love your simple ways?
How long will mockers delight in mockery
and fools hate knowledge?
23 Repent at my rebuke!
Then I will pour out my thoughts to you,
I will make known to you my teachings.
24 But since you refuse to listen when I call
and no one pays attention when I stretch out my hand,
25 since you disregard all my advice
and do not accept my rebuke,
26 I in turn will laugh when disaster strikes you;
I will mock when calamity overtakes you—
27 when calamity overtakes you like a storm,
when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind,
when distress and trouble overwhelm you.
28 “Then they will call to me but I will not answer;
they will look for me but will not find me,
29 since they hated knowledge
and did not choose to fear the Lord.
30 Since they would not accept my advice
and spurned my rebuke,
31 they will eat the fruit of their ways
and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.
32 For the waywardness of the simple will kill them,
and the complacency of fools will destroy them;
33 but whoever listens to me will live in safety
and be at ease, without fear of harm.”
really people I kindly asked for no ridiculing. Why can't you just answer the question without mockery like a normal human being

I believe this means two things. First is that willful, stubborn and persistent ignorance leads to intense suffering later on. Second that those who engage in stubborn and willful pride will lose their sense of objectivity later on.

That makes God sound kind of sadistic, quite frankly.
Translation: "When horrible things happen to you, I'm going to stand there and point and laugh. That will teach you to not bow and scrape before me."
God has the same level of maturity and morality as a psychopathic 2 year old.

It's a way of coaxing people into belief using the fear of the unknown, now give me money for magical protection amulets or I will refuse to sell you them when horrible things happen to you and you need them.

"...since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the Lord."
Ironic.
"...but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.”
False promise.

Sounds like a warm blanket of self righteousness people who were unlucky enough to be born into a certain religion might use to justify their crazy outdated opinions on things like, say, gay marriage. :P

The meaning of these verses can ALL be revealed through this one sentence:
